What if you're away from work?

Sickness absence

If you’re away from work because of illness or any other incapacity and you’re receiving contractual or statutory sick pay, you’ll continue to be a member of the L&G Master Trust. You’ll be required to continue making your contributions to the Scheme at the same rate you were paying before your absence began.

In some circumstances (i.e. if you cease receiving pay), the Company may at their discretion make contributions on your behalf with Trustee agreement.

Maternity, paternity, adoption and shared parental leave

If you’re on ordinary maternity, paternity, adoption or shared parental leave, or any other period of family leave and still being paid by the Company, your contributions (normally via Salary Sacrifice) will be based on the pay (if any) you’re receiving.

The Company contribution will be calculated based on the basic salary you’d have received if you hadn’t been absent and the Company will make up the difference between your actual contributions and what your contributions would have been.
